I am not the kind of girl who would do makeup on an everyday basis and I love just being “Au Naturale” when it comes to the topic of makeup.
However, being a blogger, there will be some time when I have to dress up, glam up and “live like a celebrity”. To me, a non-beauty/cosmetic blogger and a make-up amateur, it’s not an easy feat.
I don’t have exactly the perfect skin, and my pores are pretty big, but I still prefer to work with just skincare without makeup on a daily basis.
In addition, I wear specs. I love the convenience, especially when I travel. Just that I feel in the world of beauty and entertainment (aka celebrity’s world) the trusty spectacles isn’t welcomed.
While I have to step up and put on some makeup for these glamourous events, I found that the easiest to concentrate would be eye make-up. After all, it’s often said that the eyes are the windows to one’s soul and the easiest to master for a beginner, like myself.
I was given a chance to review Sasatinnie, their in-house brand of cosmetics which is affordable and pretty easy for newbies who wants to try out makeup.
Sasatinnie’s newest product (available in all Sasa stores from November 2013) is the SaSatinnie Party Queen 4D Hot Lash Mascara.
The applicator is specially invented for Asian Women, with that thin brushes which reduce little to no clumping when applying the mascara.

Asians, unfortunately, genetically has shorter lash that makes our eyes looks tired and small. I can’t say I have long lashes, but I think it’s a nice length. Sometimes when I feel like it, I would just curl my lashes for the fun of it, without any mascara. Curling the lashes do make a significant difference to the eyes.

For eye makeup, I believe in the trio: Eyebrow, eyeliner and mascara. I usually use blacks or browns, but occasionally a mermaid blue eyeliner just for fun. The blacks make the eyes more alert and bigger, making you look for radiant and refresh.
My advice to newbies on makeup is to first go get your eyebrows trim by a professional. I have to say, it is sooooooooooooooo much easier to draw your eyebrows when they are trimmed. (I need another appointment soon). If you are more hardworking, take a few photos after your eyebrows are trimmed and maintain them on your own. It really makes life easier. Then get a simple eyebrow pencil, preferably an angled crayon that would aid you to draw your eyebrows.
For eye-liner, crayons are beginner’s best friend. I started with a non-waterproof one, which was pretty forgiving because you need time to build your skill to draw the eyeline. An non-waterproof one would give you the leeway to erase unwanted or shaky lines with a cotton bud, and although it smudges easily, it’s an excuse for you to head into the toilet and practice drawing.
Once you have that steady hands, then get a waterproof one.
The SaSatinnie smoky eyeliner pencil is a level up. Besides acting as a eyeliner, this pencil comes with a brush which you can do a smoky eye. Honestly, I haven’t had the courage to wear a smoky look yet! BUT, this comes in handy as an excuse to try.
What I like about this smoky eyeliner pen is how suprisingly smooth as the crayon glides on my eyelids. The crayon is super-soft!! (alert for first timers!! they are NOT colour pencils!!) Which makes learning to draw your eyeline much more easier. I ever tried really scratchy and hardy crayons, which is very frustrating cause the colour just will not glide onto the lids.
Okay, now onto mascara. In the above picture, I have Party Queen 4D Hot Lash Mascara at work on the right eye (looking at the picture would be the left). You can see that there isn’t clumping and one swipe it already lengthens and volumizes.
|Two-layers of SaSatinnie Party Queen 4D Hot Lash Mascara|
Regular mascaras will clump heavily when it reaches layer two. But Sasatinnie Party Queen 4D Hot Lash Mascara is still holding strong! You can see it not only doesn’t clumps, but lengthens the lashes beautifully.

If it’s worth doing, it’s worth over-doing.
Since it can withstand two layers, I went for another layer.
The lashes at the tip gets darker and little clumps form. However, I also found that another swipe of the brush will take away those little unwanted clumps with minimal effort. Looks pretty good for me!
Another interesting finding. Usually, when I use regular mascara (evening the lengthening kind), my eyelids could feel the weight of the mascara after I put on the second layer.
SaSatinnie Party Queen 4D Hot Lash Mascara is surprisingly light even after 3 layers!
I like the amount of length and volume of lash I got after 3 layers. I do think if you have the time to let each layer dry, you can keep adding more mascara to create this peacock-tail-fan shape lash look featured in the video:
On a night out in town, complete the beautiful eye look with colours from SaSatinnie’s makeup palette!
