Village Hotel Katong, also known as Katong opens its doors on 06 November 2013, the newest hotel right in the heart of Katong Singapore. Residing in the building of the former Paramount, the new hotel has transformed itself into a modernistic Peranakan experience. Drawing inspirations on traditional Peranakan motifs, the 229 guest rooms are lightly infused with colours such as fuchsia (featured in the photo above), lime and turquoise to highlight the the vibrant Peranakan culture in its contemporary luxury.

The premier peranakan and club rooms are accentuated with peranakan-inspired paintings by children aged 5-12, in collaboration with heART studio.  Their teachers’ works decorated the individual lift lobbies.

This small boutique hotel is a good choice for a staycation and a short exploration trip on Peranakan culture.
