Delihub Catering for Annual Family Christmas Party 2012

After all the hard work of preparation, my Christmas party is finally over! However, here’s are some photos to look back and savour those wonderful memories…

I ordered my Christmas fare from Deli Hub Catering; mainly because it is halal and it is one of the very few caterers that offers Asian fare during the Christmas period. DeliHub’s menu fit my criteria so that I can comfortably accommodate both my Malay Muslim relatives as well as my grandmother and a few elders.

Here are some shots of the food:

Seafood Fried Rice

According to my relatives, (I hardly ate that night); the seafood fried rice was delicious.

Many of them took the chance to pack some home after the party.

Redang Chicken

This dish is so red, I never dare to try it.

However, I learnt from my cousin that this dish is really spicy, but again it was another hit with the adults, uncles and aunts. They love this!
Sweet and Sour Snapper Fish / Broccoli and Mushroom

I personally love anything sweet and sour. So I really like this dish. I also had to consider that I have children coming to my party, so my benchmark was to at least keep half of my feast children-friendly.

Here are some close-ups:

Sweet and Sour Snapper Fish
This vegetable dish is actually Geetha’s favourite! Geetha is my colleague whom I had invited to this year’s party. Unfortunately, she couldn’t make it that day.
Broccoli and Mushrooms
I love cereal prawns. So I had decided on this dish.

The adults love them as well as the spring rolls!

Cereal Prawns and Spring Rolls
Here is a close-up shot of the cereal prawn dish.

Bo Bo Cha Cha
This bo bo cha cha doesn’t look like much, eh? But it is really addictive! Many went for seconds~
I love the chewy red bits inside this creamy yam dish.
YUMZ~
Desserts and Cold Cuts area
The mains fitted on my kitchen counter top and the caterer set up a side table to fit all the desserts and the Christmas cold cuts.
The Chicken ham was a hit with my Muslim cousins; since it is relatively difficult for them to consume Halal Chicken ham at home, as my aunt is more of a traditional cook. Anyway, I had half of the ball left at the end of the party, so my Muslim uncle packed a quarter of the ball of ham home and my other cousin took home the other quarter.

The turkey, ham and a log cake came separately from the buffet set.
Although it was relatively expensive, (well I do find caterers tend to jack up the prices during festive seasons), the cold cuts and cake tasted really really good!! The fudge cake was really rich and fudgy. I love chocolate!!
So overall, it was worth the price.
For those who are interested, here’s the run down of what I ordered:
  • DeliHub Catering – Passion Delight Set A (Festive Price @ SGD16.99/ pax);
    I ordered for 30 pax.
  • Christmas Savouries Platter A @ SGD172.80
  • Total Price (inclusive of delivery and GST): SGD778.43
(all prices accurate as at December 2012)
Of course, on top of what was catered, my mum whipped out her signature mee siam:

I was at my bestie’s place the night before at her feast, and she offered me some clam chowder to take home. It was a hit with my youngster cousins; whom one of them finish what was leftover in the pot!

Unfortunately, this was non-halal~
So, I took the time to print some tags, so the Muslims knew which dishes were non-halal.
Practically, those with the Christmas tree tags were non-halal. So they could avoid those.
Here’s a picture to give you an idea how it fitted in my kitchen:
After food, we had our signature game..
Not going to tell you exactly what it is, only my family members and invited guests will know..
But here’s all of us in action:

This is an private family event and not a sponsored event. Food catering was paid for by me. Opinions written are all my own based on my experiences.

Till the next Christmas!
